Puupapat makes individual pieces from solid wood. Most pieces exist only once.

Grain, knots, differences in colour, small checks and other natural features of wood are part of each piece. They are not defects when they are normal for solid wood, or when they are shown in the photographs or described in the product information.

We describe each piece, its dimensions and its photographs as accurately as we reasonably can. Colours can look slightly different on different screens.

Prices are in euros and include Finnish value added tax (VAT) at the general rate of 25.5 %. The delivery charge is shown separately before you order and also includes VAT at 25.5 %.

The total price, the delivery charge and the VAT amount are shown in the checkout before you place the order, and on your order confirmation and invoice / receipt. There are no other charges.

1. Choose the piece, the delivery method and enter your contact and delivery details in the checkout.
2. Check the summary. Pressing "Order and pay" places a binding order with an obligation to pay, and takes you to the payment service.
3. Because each piece exists only once, the piece is held for you while you pay. It is sold to you only when the payment service has confirmed the payment to us; reaching a success page in the browser alone does not complete the purchase.
4. We send an order confirmation with your invoice / receipt to your email once the payment is confirmed. The contract is concluded at that moment.
5. If you cancel the payment or it fails, no purchase is made and the piece becomes available again.
6. The contract language is Finnish, Swedish or English, as you choose on the site.

You pay online through Paytrail with the payment methods shown on Paytrail's payment page (at present Finnish online banks). Puupapat never sees or stores your online banking credentials or any card details.

Paytrail Oyj (business ID 2122839-7) is the payment service provider, in cooperation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. Paytrail Oyj will be shown as the recipient on your bank or card statement and forwards the payment to us. Paytrail Oyj is an authorised payment institution. Smaller pieces are sent as one parcel per order, to addresses in Finland. The parcel price depends on the size of the largest piece (€14.90 / €25.10 / €38.50) and is shown in the checkout. For delivery to other countries, please contact us before ordering.

Tables and other large pieces are not sent by post. They can be collected from our workshop in Kaarina by appointment, or delivered by Puupapat when that option and its price are shown in the checkout. Otherwise you can reserve such a piece or request a delivery quote on its page, and we agree on the delivery and its price with you before you buy.

We send or hand over the piece without undue delay and at the latest within 30 days of your order, unless we agree on another time with you. The piece is at our risk until you have received it.

Please check the piece when you receive it. If it has been damaged in transport, tell us as soon as possible (see section 9).

As a consumer you may withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. The withdrawal period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or a person you named, received the piece. If an order is delivered in several parts, the period ends 14 days after you received the last part. You may also withdraw before you receive the piece.

How to withdraw: use the function "Withdraw from contract here" on our site (link in the footer of every page and in your order confirmation), send us an email, or use the model withdrawal form below. It is enough that you send your notice before the period ends. If you use the online function, we send you without undue delay a confirmation by email of what you sent and of the date and time we received it.

Returning the piece: send or bring the piece to our workshop, Puupapat, Koristontie 1, 10, 20780 Kaarina, Finland, without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days of your notice of withdrawal. Write your order number on or in the parcel. Pack the piece carefully and protect it so that it is not damaged on the way; if possible, use the original packaging.

Return costs: when you withdraw from the purchase of a piece that is not defective, you pay the direct cost of returning it. Parcel pieces can be returned by post. Tables and other large pieces that cannot be returned by post are not sold online at the moment.

Refund: we refund everything you paid, including the original delivery charge (but not the extra cost of a delivery method more expensive than our cheapest standard delivery, if you chose one), without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days of receiving your notice of withdrawal. We may wait with the refund until we have received the piece back or you have shown that you have sent it, whichever happens first. We refund with the same payment method you used, unless you expressly agree to another; you will not be charged any fee for the refund.

Handling the piece: you may examine the piece as you could in a shop. If you handle it more than is needed to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, you may be liable for the resulting loss of value.

Withdrawal or defect? If the piece is defective, was damaged in delivery or is not the piece you ordered, you do not need to withdraw from the purchase: make a defect complaint under section 9 instead. In that case you do not pay the return costs.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to a piece that we make or change according to your own requirements or that is clearly personalised for you, for example a table made to the measurements you gave us. Such custom work is agreed separately, and we tell you clearly before you order if the right of withdrawal does not apply.

A piece that is one of a kind but was not made to your requirements, such as any finished piece in the shop, can be returned under section 7 like any other purchase.

We are responsible for defects as set out in the Consumer Protection Act. These terms do not limit your rights.

If the piece is defective, was damaged in delivery or is not the piece you ordered, tell us within a reasonable time of noticing it. A notice made within two months of noticing the defect is always in time. Send your order number, a description of the defect or damage and, where useful, photographs to puupapatoy@gmail.com. Please contact us before sending the piece back, so that we can agree on the best way to put things right. As the seller we are responsible to you; you do not need to contact the manufacturer or anyone else.

If a defect appears within one year of delivery, it is presumed to have existed at delivery unless shown otherwise. You may first choose between repair and replacement free of charge. If that is not possible or is not done within a reasonable time, you may ask for a price reduction or, unless the defect is minor, cancel the purchase.

Correcting a defect is free of charge for you. We bear the necessary costs, including reasonable costs of sending the piece back to us, and reimburse costs you have paid. A defect complaint is separate from the right of withdrawal and does not use the withdrawal function.

Natural features of wood that are normal for solid wood or that were shown or described when you bought the piece are not defects in themselves.

If you cancel the payment or it fails before it has been confirmed, no purchase is made. The hold on the piece ends and it becomes available to other customers. A piece is marked paid and sold only when the payment service has confirmed the payment directly to us.

Finnish law applies. This does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.

We may update these terms. A new version applies only to orders placed after it is published; your order keeps the version in force when you ordered. The version and date are shown at the top.
